Flonase Information

Flonase is a nasal inhaler with the generic name of Fluticasone. Flonase belongs the drug category of Nasal Corticosteroids. Flonase acts like cortisone medicines. Flonase is a steroid that is inhaled.

Flonase Indications

Flonase is prescribed for the relief of stuffy nose, nose irritation, nose discomfort and other nasal problems. Flonase is also used to prevent Nasal Polyps from returning after they are surgically removed.

Flonase Usage Guidelines

Flonase is a nasal medicine and it should not be in anyway orally administered or injected.

Before using this medicine, clean your nose first and when it is already free from dirt, insert the nosepiece into your nostril. Aim and spray the liquid towards the inner corner of the nose.

Do not use more of the nasal spray than what is directed by your doctor.

Flonase Dosage

The dosage of Flonase in adults is one to two sprays in each nostril once or twice daily.

Flonase Overdose

The symptoms of Flonase Overdose are:

• Acne
• Blurred vision
• Bone fractures
• Excess hair growth
• Increase in urination
• Thirst
• Menstrual changes
• Lack of menstruation
• Muscle wasting
• Weakness
• Rounding of face
• High blood pressure
• Impotence in males

If you suspect overdose and the above symptoms are present immediately consult your doctor or seek emergency medical attention immediately.

Flonase Missed Dose

When you happen to miss a dose of Flonase, it is ok to take one after an hour or so but if an hour has already passed, just skip the missed dose and proceed with the next one.

• Burning or stinging of nose
• Red discharge on eyes and nose
